When I think of Poppy I think of sorghum, dudy-um, denteyne gum, 7up, Western paperback books, Gunsmoke and I can still see him washing his hands all the way up to his elbows. He would stand at the sink (hand pump) in the kitchen at the farm. He would always get such a good lather. Of course the trips to the elevator on the wagons full of corn. He'd wave and we'd wave as we approached oncoming traffic. We'd all get a bottle of Nehi soda out of the pop machine at the elevator. Many times Guy would be there. They're all great childhood memories.
